2 Year Old Sessional Group

Nursery staff provide three sessions a week for 2 year old children through to the term in which they have their third birthday.  Each session lasts for 2 1/2 hours. Currently, children are referred into the group on the criteria for the national 2 year old pilot scheme or for those not eligible for this scheme, according to need. We provide a ratio of 1 member of staff to every 4 children.

In this group, staff follow the "Birth To Three Matters Framework" for planning and assessment of childrens needs.

From September 2008 the "Birth to Three Framework" and "Foundation Stage" documents will be replaced by a single document "The Early Years Foundation Stage"
